Recently I have seen some wet looking inks. The ink in these cases has some form of an oil base which
gives it a shine. The black ink looks wet and very rich in color.
If you have one of these do not try to have it lasered. There have been several reported cases of the oil absorbing
the laser energy creating a deep crevace and burn that lead to scar formation. So surgical excision if the tattoo is small enough is a better cohice.

picosecond lasrs

The gold standard for laser tattoo removal is the Q-Switched laser.
This type of laser emits the beam in nanoseconds rather than miliseconds as utilized by most other laser systems.
The rapid release of the laser output means less heat is delivered to the target and more energy. The rapid frequent delivery vibrates the
target cell or ink  shattering it into small particles.
That is the basis for laser tattoo removal,  rendering the ink into tiny specs that can be taken away by the cells of your immune system.
Theory has it that lasers firing in picoseconds will render these particles into even smaller particles thus making laser tattoo removal faster and better.
The results are pending but if this proves to be true we can see new lasers for lattoo removal on the market in the next few years.

Despite what rumors you may hear, laser tattoo removal takes time.

So many people hear tales of a friend of a friend who had a tattoo removed by laser in 2 sessions.
Is this possible? Well, if it is an amature home-made tattoo placed with a sewing needle and an ink blotter then possibly.

I can assure you that unless the ink was real garbage no professional tattoo come off in 2 treatments. The average is 8.
he sad part is when someone wants to join the military and they get disqualified due to a tattoo.

I see this weekly and unfortunately ,  I simply can not remove the tattoo in a few months. Remember sessions are at least 6 weeks apart. If your test is a month away there is no safe way for me to remove that tattoo.
So…If you are thinking of Joining the military or Police force give yourself enough time to have the offending ink removed.

MULTIPLE PASS LASER TATTOO REMOVAL r-20.

Recently alot of discussion was based around lasering a tattoo four times in one day. This took several hours to perform but in theory would remove the ink in a shorter period of time.
It looks like the technique has variable results. Increased pigment changes, occasional scaring and in many cases no real increase in the rate of ink removal.I am going to still use the standard technique and wait at least 6 weeks between treatments.
